LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency Training

This is a presentation created by the LGBTQ+ Resource Center to educate staff, faculty, and students on LGBTQ+ culture so that the audience may become more informed and more inclusive of LGBTQ+ individuals. It is presented across campus for free by Katie Perkins the LGBTQ+ Resource Center Coordinator.

This training covers topics including:

  • terminology and demographics
  • pronoun usage and importance
  • differences between gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation
  • LGBTQ+ rights
  • how to become an LGBTQ+ ally

Who can receive this training?

This presentation is geared for faculty and staff training purposes as well as educating groups of students. This training can also be provided in your classroom as part of your course material – call or email the center to learn more.
